Tile Cut to Size
Original drawing from my two-person show with Erika Strohecker, It’s Never Too Late to Mend.
This piece is inspired by old signage and advertising. The goal was to demonstrate my process and how I create my lettering and illustrations. Each piece shows different stages of my process; some are more rough than others, some are completely finished drawings and others are more of a study that breaks down the lettering and colors that make up the design. Some of them are based on real products and signs that actually existed many years ago, while others are completely made up based on inspiration from Ohio, Oregon and ephemera in my collection.
Graphite on paper
